Pakistan floods: UAE starts emergency aid drive to help victims

The Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) has begun a charity drive to help those in Pakistan who have been affected by the recent flooding.

As a result of this joint effort by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities and the Dar Al Ber Society, residents of the United Arab Emirates can now make monetary or in-kind gifts to help those who have been affected.

Dry rations such as lentils, pulses, and rice, fresh clothing, shoes, and socks, hygiene items like soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, and sanitizers, crockery, and money to construct a shelter for the flood victims on the property of the Pakistan Association Dubai can all be provided.

All items donated should be in excellent shape and well packaged. More than 1,300 people have died and millions more have been evacuated as a result of the worst flooding the South Asian nation has ever seen. The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia (SA), Qatar (QR), Turkey (TR), the United States (US), China (PR), and many others have all donated aid to the victims. The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan said that extreme rainfall and the melting of glaciers in the northern highlands were to blame for the flooding.

Food, medicine, shelter supplies, and relief items were among the first things offered to flood victims, with the Joint Operations Command of the UAE Ministry of Defense and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) leading the way.

Following the devastating floods in Pakistan, the Pakistan Association in Dubai (PAD) has chosen to rally the local community to aid those in need back home.

This is what the Organization said.

PAD has begun a quick fundraising effort to help those affected by the floods. We humbly beg and plead with locals to help us stock up on shelter necessities.

Dr. Faisel Ikram, PAD’s president, has asked the community to chip in generously.

As a result of one of the deadliest natural disasters in Pakistan’s history, 33 million people were forced to leave their homes. Dr. Ikram has asked for the community’s aid in ensuring the well-being of his patients’ loved ones back in Pakistan.

Dr. Ikram also gave high marks to the Dubai government for their transparency in aiding the campaign and hastening flood relief in Pakistan.

The Association assured everyone that the gifts would reach flood-stricken areas of Pakistan via reliable local contacts, and that the goods would be distributed safely and efficiently.
