This year will see the opening of a new Dh119 million waterfront tourism destination.

Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) said on Thursday that almost all of the work is done on the Kalba Waterfront, which is the region’s largest shopping area and the first waterfront attraction for everyone.

Eagle Hills put together Sharjah Development, a waterfront attraction in Sharjah’s Eastern Region that is a joint venture between Shurooq and Eagle Hills, is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2022.

In the Dh119 million project, there are still a few ways to invest. The new area is over 183,000 square metres (sqm) and has new retail and entertainment ideas that are good for families.

Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, the acting CEO of Shurooq, said that the Kalba Waterfront is in one of the most beautiful and peaceful places. It has a view of a calm lagoon surrounded by mangroves. This is a popular place for people who like to be outside.

Al Qaseer pointed out that the project’s cutting-edge architecture makes it a great place to shop. He said that the project would have 80 units, different places to eat inside and out, and a long promenade that went around the lagoon.

The acting CEO of Shurooq said that the project will have a 1,600-square-meter play area that will be fun for people of all ages. It has a trampoline, a place to skate, and a place to jump off of.

Extreme adventure fans will have a unique chance to test their skills in simulators, video games, rope walking, wall climbing, and much more.
